Hi! I’m Maria,

Hello everyone! My love for entertainment and journalism started way before I ever discovered K-pop. Back in 2010, when One Direction first formed, I remember thinking, “I want to interview them one day.” That was when I first realized I wanted to become a reporter and be part of the entertainment world.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I wake up listening to music, I go to sleep listening to music, and during the summer, you could usually find me glued to the radio. I’ve always loved discovering new artists, hearing new songs, and following the stories behind the people making the music.

My love for movies and television runs just as deep. I’ve always been the person counting down the days until a new movie comes out, and now I’m the person buying movie tickets months in advance.  Whether it’s music, movies, television, celebrities, or the latest pop culture conversation, entertainment has always been something I naturally gravitate toward.

Then, in 2019, my friends introduced me to K-pop. The first group I heard was, of course, BTS, and after listening to a few songs, I was HOOKED! I started discovering different artists and groups and learning about an entirely new side of the music world.

K-pop eventually became more than just music for me. It introduced me to a community and allowed me to meet some amazing people, including some of my closest friends through cup sleeve events and other fan events. Pentagon remains my ultimate group, but my love for K-pop is just one part of my much bigger love for entertainment.

And that brings me here, to Keeping it Ria-L!

This blog is where I get to combine my love for music, movies, television, pop culture, and journalism while sharing my honest thoughts, reviews, interviews, and experiences along the way.
